The Top 10 Recommendations From My First 10 Posts
In my posts, I’ve covered everything from human trafficking to the plight of the Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh. I’m working on a new post, but I have a lot of research to complete before I can write it. I thought in the meantime I would post what I feel are the top 10 recommendations from my first 10 posts. Here are my picks:
1. Learn the signs of trafficking. Sex Trafficking and Labor Trafficking have recognizable signs. Download the printable pdf from Shared Hope International
2. If you are one of the many people who struggle with pornography addiction, get help. See the Important Links section of this site for websites that provide help and resources for those addicted to pornography
3. Buy products made by, and for the support of, trafficking survivors: Sari Bari, Good Paper, International Sanctuary, Sudara, Butterfly Project, Shop For Freedom, Relevee, Freeset, To The Market, Her Future Coalition.
4. For men, go to sharedhope.org, take the pledge, and become a Defender
5. Advocate for girls’ education. It’s good for girls and it’s good for society
6. Donate, donate, donate! Organizations like Thorn and the others I’ve discussed cannot function without your generosity.
7. Samaritan’s Purse is constructing a Diphtheria Treatment Center in Kutupalong to serve the needs of Rohingya refugees. They need your donations.
8. Download the Truckers Against Trafficking app for iOS
9. If you are a trucker, get TAT certified. Call 612-888-2050
10. View the photos of Stephanie Sinclair. They are stunning, and they put human faces on the problem of child marriage.
